Editors Aotearoa New Zealand

Welcome to Editors Aotearoa New Zealand (EdANZ), the newest branch of the Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd)!

We aim to support practising editors in New Zealand by:

  • bringing editors together on both personal and professional levels
  • promoting high standards in editing
  • providing opportunities for professional development
  • encouraging discussion among members on all matters relating to writing, editing and publishing
  • advocating for the editing profession so that we are visible, heard and respected.

We have an enthusiastic membership and a willing committee. The committee is elected each year according to the IPEd constitution. The current committee will remain in post until August 2020.

As well as running regular branch meetings by Zoom video link and providing you with the benefits of becoming a member of Editors Aotearoa New Zealand, we will be offering you access to:

  • webinars
  • training sessions
  • accreditation
  • conferences.

Members keep up to date via regular emails and our newsletter, KĊrero, and we have a closed Facebook page to allow informal discussion. A public Facebook page and Twitter account will allow us to promote the Editors Aotearoa New Zealand (EdANZ) branch and its benefits. Local sub-groups will allow face-to-face meetings.

Find an editor

IPEd has established the Editors Directory. Clients can search the directory for freelance editors using specific criteria. These will identify editors that have specific interests, skills or experience in certain areas.
