IPEd is seeking nominations for the 2021 Rosanne Fitzgibbon Editorial Award (the Rosie).
The Rosie honours the memory of Rosanne Fitzgibbon DE (1947–2012), a distinguished editor of literary fiction, nonfiction and scholarly work in literary studies.

Congratulations to the new AEs

The Accreditation Board is pleased to announce that 58 candidates who sat the exam on 5 December 2020 achieved the overall minimum pass mark of 80 per cent needed to demonstrate their editing competence.

When and why did you join IPEd? I joined Society of Editors Victoria probably around 1998. It’s been a while so the exact year is a little hazy. I was studying the Graduate Diploma in Editing and Publishing at RMIT and it seemed a great way to tap into the industry and connect with other editors.

Honorary Life Member profile series: Jan Whelan

In this issue, Gatherings starts a series of profiles of honorary life members.
Like most editors of my day, I fell into editing. I had wanted to be a journalist from a very young age. I loved the English language, playing with words and helping to make paragraphs easier to read.
I found my way to the educational publisher Jacaranda Press (now Jacaranda Wiley).
