IPEd introduces ideas forums
IPEd introduces ideas forums for members
IPEd will hold forums where members can contribute and discuss ideas. The forums will be run twice a year and IPEd invites members to join the first forum for 2020.
- Date: Monday 14 September 6pm-7.30pm AEST; this will make it slightly earlier than usual member meetings and still a reasonable time for members from Editors Aotearoa New Zealand.
- Location: Zoom
- Facilitator: Adrian Hart from Associations Forum

IPEd has received several topics from members, including one about representation of the profession in IPEd’s membership. This will be one of the discussion topics: that IPEd recruit more members working in and with:
- commercial book publishing
- assisted self-publishing with independent publishers
- self-publishing organisations
- authors seeking traditional publication, agent representation or self-publication.
IPEd encourages discussion from members about forming a working party on the topic of representation.
You are invited to submit topics for discussion. Please note that, with the restricted time, issues may need to be prioritised in the first forum. Remaining issues can be discussed at the second member forum at the AGM in November.
Please send issues, ideas and brainwaves to Nicole Mathers, secretary@iped-editors.org.
Book here for the forum. You’ll receive a link for the Zoom meeting after registrations close on 11 September.
Find an editor
IPEd has established the Editors Directory. Clients can search the directory for freelance editors using specific criteria. These will identify editors that have specific interests, skills or experience in certain areas.
