2018 IPEd Prize: call for submissions

Posted on: 11 November 2018

IPEd is now calling for submissions for the 2018 IPEd Prize.

The Prize is part of IPEd's mission to support and foster teaching and research in editing and publishing. Awarded annually, it offers $250 for a high-quality essay of 2000–3000 words on a topic relevant to the editing profession or Australian publishing industry, written in the context of a postgraduate coursework program and submitted in 2018. Submitted essays should have achieved a grade of A+ or High Distinction in the 2018 academic year.

The winner of the IPEd Prize gains valuable career recognition among editors and the editing profession through the following:

  • acknowledgement as the IPEd Prize winner on the IPEd website and in the IPEd newsletter, which is circulated nationally
  • mentions on IPEd social media channels
  • recognition at the biennial national editors conference (Melbourne, 2019)
  • the opportunity, if appropriate, to share their essay with IPEd members on the IPEd website
  • possible mention in media targeting publishers, authors and editors
  • acknowledgement in an announcement to publishers, writers centres and other IPEd stakeholders.

Essays entered for this prize must be received by IPEd by Monday 25 February 2019

Further details and the entry form are available.
