IPEd is pleased to announce new staff appointments.
The national Executive Officer of IPEd is Karen Lee.
Karen is a qualified solicitor from the corporate law arena and has worked as a Senior Policy Adviser to the Australian Democrats and as Chief of Staff to two senators. Her established political experience and intimate knowledge of the parliamentary process, as well as her strong strategic advocacy and campaigning skills are assets she brings to the role. She also has extensive experience working at executive and senior levels in both the community sector and state government.
Karen is passionate about working in this industry and is looking forward to working with Council to ensure that we provide a strong and unified voice on behalf of our membership.
The national Membership Officer is Karen Gillen, a member of Editors Victoria and the Australian and New Zealand Society of Indexers (ANZSI), for which she was until recently Membership Officer. Karen has worked as a freelance editor and indexer since 2005.
Earlier in her career she gained extensive experience in research positions and fellowships.
Karen Lee and Karen Gillen join existing staff members Secretary Margaret Telford and Communication Officer Mary-Ann Came to form a strong team for the newly restructured IPEd.
