From the committee
We’re building some momentum as we go further into the new year.
We’re also looking forward to a couple of sessions that we’ve been planning for a while. On 28 April, we enjoyed a session with Dr Patrick Allington, a South Australian novelist and editor, who talked with us about his career in editing, his experience as a writer working with editors, and his approach to project management.
If you’re in Adelaide and thinking about accreditation, come along to our coffee chat on 7 May. You’ll meet some accredited editors who’ll talk about what they found useful to prepare.
Editors SA has a long and proud tradition of ensuring SA is fully represented on IPEd’s standing committees and working parties. Editors SA is currently seeking members to represent SA on the following:
- Accreditation Board (delegate must be an AE)
- Standing Committee for Professional Development
- Communications Standing Committee.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to be a part of the wider conversation around these topics while building your skills and adding to your experience in areas such as:
- policy development
- working with committees and boards
- project management
- negotiation and consultation.
No prior experience is necessary, and you will have the full support of the committee. Please contact edsa.president@iped-editors.org to express your interest or for more information.
