What does your role with IPEd entail?
Handling all the financial aspects of IPEd operations. This includes yearly budgets, monthly reporting, payroll, quarterly BAS and much more.
What value do you bring to the IPEd membership?
My years of experience in the finance industry.
What projects have you been working on recently for IPEd?
End-of-financial-year audit, the annual report and committee budgets.
Some background on your career path – what led you to IPEd?
I have worked in finance/accounting for the past 20 years. My mother is an editor and IPEd member. She sent me a copy of the job vacancy. It was perfect for me as it was flexible and allowed me to work from home.
Do you have another job outside IPEd?
Yes.
What do you do in your spare time?
Reading, cooking, going to the beach with my family.
What sports do you enjoy watching and/or playing?
None – I am extremely uncoordinated.
What’s your favourite holiday destination? Why?
France. For the food, the museums, the markets and the history.
Describe your family members:
Partner Craig, daughter Sienna (4), step-son Preston (11).
Do you have any pets?
A cat named Orbit and a dog named Charlie.
Who do you admire most and why?
All the parents who are currently homeschooling. For their extreme patience.
What would you never give up?
Cheese.
What are your favourite books?
Bitter Greens by Kate Forsyth and Wrack by James Bradley.
What’s something very few people know about you?
I am scared of heights.
Your scariest moment?
Hiking down Kings Canyon in the NT.
