The first draft of Books without barriers, the new guide by the Accessibility Initiative Working Party (AIWP) writing team, is complete. The manuscript is now being reviewed by trade and educational publishers, academics, alternative-format providers, IPEd committees and other organisations and individuals with an interest in accessible publishing. The AIWP will work through the feedback we receive and make final revisions over the next two to three months.
In addition to a grant from the Copyright Agency Cultural Fund, we are pleased to announce support from the Australian Publishers Association for our project. Books without barriers will be co-published by IPEd and the APA in April 2023. The guide will be hosted by both organisations and offered as a free downloadable resource for everyone involved in the publishing process, from writers and editors to designers and publishers.
