President’s report

By Deborah Shaw AE

Kia ora and welcome to June.

If you’re like me and working from home, you may have started wearing a few more layers in the home office. Some days I feel like I’m dressed for the Antarctic, so perhaps I should just put the heater on!

A big welcome to Rina Wongpanich who has joined the EdANZ committee as our budget officer. Great to have you with us! Here’s a little introduction from Rina:

Hello! I started editing and proofreading in 2018 after my family moved to Thailand. After a career in marketing, I wanted to learn a new skill so when the opportunity to edit a magazine for expat families came up, I dived right in. Not only did I rediscover my love for words, but I became motivated to help more writers share their stories. That’s how The Editing Station was born. I edit business reports, marketing materials, web and social media content for corporates and small businesses spread over four continents. I also enjoy proofreading manuscripts and have clients located as far as Ukraine.

Now that I’ve returned home to Wellington, I’m keen to contribute to the editing community. IPEd has helped me upskill and to continue developing as an editor and I’m pleased to be helping with the budget for EdANZ.

I’d love to connect with more editors, so please reach out for a chat or even better, I’ll take you for a coffee (or drink of choice) when you visit Wellington!

Stay warm and dry, and I hope to see you online.
