CEO’s message
The first conversation in the IPEd-Brisbane Writers Festival series, Editors and Authors in Conversation, is now available.
I found it stimulating and entertaining. I invite you all to sign up to view the 10 episodes. The member discount code has been shared via email to all members.
2021 conference
The draft program for the 2021 conference, Editing on the edges, is now available and conference registrations are open. Click here for more details. COVID-19 has forced us to take the conference online this year, but it will be an exciting event and I look forward to seeing many of you at our first-ever virtual conference.
Member survey
The IPEd member survey on editors’ income and expenditure will be released this month. The data collected will be vital in IPEd’s advocacy work for both employee and self-employed editors, building on the work of the Pay Rates Working Party, so I urge all members to complete it. You will be rewarded. Keep an eye on your inbox for the notice.
Australia Day awards
Congratulations to former IPEd member Dr Robyn Sheahan-Bright AM, who was among those who received an award in the Australia Day honours list.
Robyn was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia.
Robyn was a professional member of the EdsQ branch until 2018. She operated writing and publishing consultancy services and published regularly on children’s literature, Australian fiction and publishing history. She was Program Manager of the Australian Publishers Association’s Residential Editorial Program for many years. Read more here.
Kind regards
