Self-care and business self-care for editors (speaker presentation)

Details: This presentation offers a range of tips for editors to take care of the mental and physical stresses of running an editing business. The conversation will cover maintaining physical wellbeing, maintaining mental wellbeing, obtaining support, and minimising business risks. Notes of the discussion will be offered as a resource to attendees.
Presenter: Sally Asnicar is a Sydney-based editor who founded her business, Full Proofreading Services, in 2007. With a lifelong passion for writing and languages, she developed a meticulous eye for detail during her career working at law firms and as a researcher and report writer for Mitsui Australia. Her clients include businesses of all sizes, industries, and professions, as well as government departments and agencies, not-for-profits and, of course, writers. A long-time professional member of IPEd, Sally volunteers as a mentor for IPEd’s mentoring program, among many other volunteer positions she has undertaken for the association.
