Inclusive publishing explored
IPEd member Dr Joely Taylor AE has written a blog post published by Well Writ, Inclusive and accessible publishing, which focuses on the meaning and importance of inclusive publishing.
Joely writes that inclusive and accessible publishing is the creation of published material that is designed to be accessible to everyone. Many clients mistakenly believe inclusive publishing is just for people who are blind or who have vision impairments. But inclusive publishing is about so much more. It is also for people with a range of impairments — including physical, cognitive, sensory, learning and psychosocial disability.
IPEd members Carly Findlay OAM and Julie Ganner AE also provided their insight and expertise to the post. The IPEd Accessibility Initiative Working Party, headed by Julie Ganner, is in the process of selecting members and will get started this month.
